VIENNA — Bluegrass band the Kathahdin Valley Boys will kick off the Vienna Union Hall’s 2017 season with a show at 7 p.m., May 20. The band, which formed in 1998, won the Bluegrass Band of the Year award in 2012 from the Maine Country Music Association and in 2008, 2009, and 2011 from the Maine Academy of Country Music.
The band’s shows are family-oriented, and members include Dan Simons, of Vienna; Jeff Folger, a Sidney native; Ken Brooks, of Athens, who was inducted into the Maine County Music Hall of Fame in 2012; and Steve Bixby, of Round Pond. Tickets to the show are $10.
