Off The Hill Band to play in Phillips on April Fool’s Day

Mar. 302017

PHILLILPS — An evening of music and dancing featuring Off the Hill Band will be held Saturday, April 1, at the Phillips Area Community Center, 21 Depot St. According to the band’s publicist, Off the Hill Band plays “a little bit of country, a little bit of pop, a touch of bluegrass, and a little bit of rock.”

The popular area band features Paula Kaiser, an award-winning singer and songwriter on electric bass; Alan Rich on lead guitar (and several other instruments) and Dona Whittemore, dubbed by the band as the “Queen of Country,” playing rhythm guitar. Kyle Melcher joins in on drums and Gaylene Rich with hand percussion.

Because many of the band’s followers enjoy dancing to their music, Saturday’s show is being dubbed “Dance Like a Fool,” with a small dance floor set up in the cabaret-style hall. The music will start at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students. Refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information, call 639-2630.
