Franklin County Democratic Committee to meet April 2

FARMINGTON — John Kosinksi of the Maine Education Association will speak at the Franklin County Democratic Committee monthly meeting, 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at Mallett School, 116 Middle St. Koskinksi will discuss education issues facing the Maine Legislature and the MEA, according to a news release from the committee.

At the March meeting, John Reardon, of Trout Unlimited, spoke about the history of mining in Maine and how proposed legislation could both protect and harm local wildlife and groundwater, according to the release. Members also met at the annual St. Patrick Day breakfast, which was sold out, and featured Maine Senate Minority Leader Troy Jackson, D-Allagash.
