Students wage war against hunger

AUGUSTA — Cony High and Middle school students recently competed in “Penny Wars,” raising money for the “Cony Cupboard and Closet,” which assists students in need in all of the city’s schools, noted Sarah Corkum, vice president of Cony High School’s National Honor Society. A total of $1,103.46 was raised. Students also held a food drive and brought in many pounds of food for the Cony Cupboard.
