Hooksett, N.H. – The Maine Gladiators PeeWee Tier II hockey team won the state championship, beating the Maine Black Bears, 5-0. The Gladiators, who finished the season 17-1-2, includes players from Lewiston, Auburn, Turner and Brunswick. The Gladiators were one of five top teams in the Maine PeeWee Tier II division that competed in the State Championship Tournament Feb. 24 to 26.
The team represented Maine in the New England Regional Tournament in Hooksett, N.H., winning three games, before losing to Connecticut in the semifinals, 4-3.
