LISBON – The Lisbon Community Garden ADHOC Committee was presented with some wonderful donations by the Dirigo Service Unit, a combination of Girl Scout troops in Lisbon, Durham, Lewiston, Monmouth, Sabattus and Wales.
These donations came about through a themed project based on their World Thinking Day assignment. The theme was “Grow,” and they were asked to think globally. Each troop within the unit gathered and donated various garden supplies from seeds to watering cans. The Girl Scouts have provided much needed implements which will, in turn, reach many more through community food donations, teaching them how they ultimately will help feed our communities.
