Pubic hearing on Fayette trash vote is March 27

FAYETTE — The proposal to enter into a trash removal agreement with Readfield and Wayne will be discussed 7 p.m., Monday, March 27, at a public hearing at Fayette Central School. The special town meeting on the vote is 7 p.m., Monday, April 3.

Selectmen last week endorsed the proposed three-year agreement with Readfield, which will allow the town and residents to use the Readfield transfer station for trash as well as recycling needs. The town has been using a private hauler to take trash to the transfer station since an agreement with Jay ended July 1.
