Mar. 12017

LEWISTON – The Maine Music Society has welcomed Sandy MacDonald to its board of directors. MacDonald brings a wealth of knowledge and diverse experiences to help the board meet its goals.

MacDonald is currently a project manager for Mechanics Savings Bank. She has been with Mechanics for almost seven years and in the banking industry for 35 years. She has held a variety of positions throughout her banking career.

MacDonald was born and raised in New York where she was involved in music all through school. She played both the violin and piano until she came to Maine to go to college.

In addition to music, MacDonald has always been interested in education. She spent three years as the parent representative on the Gray-New Gloucester finance committee before spending seven years on the Gray-New Gloucester school board. She believes that vibrant public schools are the key to a thriving and successful community.

MacDonald and her husband Mike live on Little Sebago Lake in Gray where they enjoy boating and gardening. Their son Jesse is a junior at the University of Maine in Orono.

The Maine Music Society is a nonprofit music-performing organization that strives to serve the communities of Central Maine through imaginative and artistically excellent public performances and educational activities for youth. For more information, visit www.mainemusicsociety.org.
