LEEDS — The Leeds Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $9,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security to purchase 16 portable radios with chargers for all of our trucks. These will greatly assist in our communications between the firefighters on the scene and especially the command personnel on a fire scene.
We are also looking forward to the department’s spring French toast and pancake breakfast from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Leeds Fire Station on Route 106.
The menu will include pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, ham, homemade doughnuts, coffee and juice.
Cost is $6 for adults or $4 for children. Funds raised will be used to upgrade the scene lighting on our mutual aid pumper truck.
