LEWISTON — Mitch Thomas, executive director at the Gendron Franco Center, and Bert Dutil, popular bus trip leader, will be leading a group on a maple sugar day-trip on Saturday, April 1, to the “Cabane Sucre” in Lac-Megantic, Quebec.
The first bus is full, but there are seats available on a second bus. The public is invited to join those already signed up for the tour. This is a great trip for all ages and families are encouraged to attend.
Departure by bus from the Gendron Franco Center will be at 6:45 a.m. (coffee and breakfast snacks will be offered, starting at 6:15 a.m.) and return time is expected to be by 7 p.m. the same day. There will be a brief stop for shopping before returning to Maine.
The cost of the trip, which includes transportation and the noontime home-cooked meal at the Cabane Sucre, is $62 per person. A valid U.S. passport is needed for travel to Canada. A home-cooked feast at the site, live music by local artists, bus fare and all-day parking are all included with each ticket.
