Rome fire department recognized with safety award

ROME – Representatives from the Department of Labor presented Gary Foss, chief of the Rome Fire Department, with the Safety and Health Award for Public Employers on Monday, Jan. 23. The SHAPE award recognizes public-sector employers and employees for providing a safe and healthful workplace.

“Congratulations to the Rome Fire Department on receiving this well-deserved recognition,” said state Sen. Rodney Whittemore (R-Somerset), who is shown with Foss. “This important award exemplifies Rome Fire Department’s commitment to safety, for both their employees and the community that they serve.”
