How to be a better birder

RANGELEY – Due to the success of the Italian cuisine potluck supper hosted last month by Rangeley Guides & Sportsmen’s Association, the membership voted to proceed with a “Catch of the Day” theme for its February meeting. Attendees are asked to bring a seafood entree or a salad or dessert.

Derek Lovitch, author of the book, “How To Be A Better Birder,” will present the educational program. Lovitch’s writing has also appeared in Birding magazine, Bird Watcher’s Digest, and Bird Observer. Lovitch wrote the text and designed the “Birds of the Maine Backyard” folding guide. This presentation should be of great interest to all who enjoy observing our feathered friends.

The February meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Oquossoc Clubhouse. As always, the public is cordially welcomed to attend the associaton’s dinners and educational programs. For more information, visit www.rangeleyoutdoors.com.
