Jay offers free smoke detectors to residents

JAY — The Fire Department, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, is offering free smoke alarms to all homes in Jay. There will be a group of volunteers knocking on doors in the more populated areas of town on Jan. 14 to set up installation appointments.

Those interested in having smoke alarms installed in their home can also call the Town Office at 897-6785. Installations will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.

Also, anyone who would be willing to volunteer and help with the door-to-door outreach or with the installations on Jan. 28 would be greatly appreciated.

We will be meeting at the North Jay Fire Station at 9 am. Jan. 14 and would love to have your help in this campaign to make the homes in our town safer!
