Lewiston student gives his Christmas to critters

LEWISTON — On Dec. 28, Evan Greaton of Lewiston presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with special holiday donations. Evan, a sixth-grade student at the Geiger Elementary School, asked for donations for the shelter animals in lieu of Christmas gifts.

Friends and family generously donated pet food, treats and toys; all of which will help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society provides a safe haven for more than 4,400 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.
