LEWISTON — On Dec. 10 Lauren McNutt-Girouard of Lewiston presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with the donations from her 10th birthday. Lauren, a fourth-grader at the Farwell Elementary School, asked for donations for the pets in lieu of birthday gifts.
Party guests generously donated pet food, treats and toys; all of which will help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society provides a safe haven for more than 4,400 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area each year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.
