LEWISTON — More than 40 dancers from Mary Jane’s School of Dance, located in Turner and Lewiston, were a part of the third annual holiday performances, traveling to four nursing homes in the Lewiston-Auburn area during the month of December.
The students performed holiday-themed dances, choreographed by the owners Mary Jane and Alanna Leonard, for the residents of the nursing homes and delivered cards made by the students of MJSD.
“I love that we get the opportunity to make someone’s day,” Bailee Sabine, 15, of Lewiston said. “Not only is it fun for us, but it’s fun for them, and it’s so rewarding to see them smile.”
Many of the staff and residents from the four nursing homes gladly welcomed the group back for future years to come. Although this year the visits may have come with a few weather-related obstacles, which hindered the ability to travel, the dancers didn’t miss any of their visits.
