AUBURN — The Woman’s Literary Union will host Winter Splendor Open House from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 Sunday, Dec. 11; and Saturday, Dec. 17 and Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Foss Mansion, 19 Elm Street in Auburn.
The first floor will be decorated with many Santas , nut crackers and trees. The second floor bedrooms will display Snowbabies, Victorian dolls, and a Civil War-era Christmas tree, as well as a ladies party dress from that era. Guests will be able to sit at an antique desk and write a special message in a holiday greeting card to our veterans. Every room will have at least one decorated tree. Hand-made doll clothes will be available for purchase as well as gift baskets for holiday gift giving. Refreshments will be served and live music will play each day. Events such as this create the opportunity to share the historic building with the community, as well as maintain and preserve it for future generations.
