KINGFIELD — The public is invited to the Ski Museum of Maine’s annual open house from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. This event will be in conjunction with the First Friday ArtWalk in Kingfield. Refreshments will be served.
America and Maine are experiencing a renaissance in ski and snowboard craftsmanship, and these two companies represent Sugarloaf’s very strong connection to this exciting trend: Amalgam Skis are made by hand in Freeport, by two longtime ‘Loafers, Amy and Phil Taisey, and they are available for sale and demo at Happy Tunes. Winterstick is owned by a Sugarloaf-centric group headed by Seth Wescott and Tom Fremont-Smith, and they’re made by hand at the base of West Mountain.
Meet the Taiseys and a representative from Winterstick at the open house.
