GREENE — Morse Library in Greene has titles from the 2016-17 Maine Student Book Award list. Each year, the winner of the award is determined by Maine students in grades four through eight, who vote at their school or public library after reading three or more books from the list. The top vote getter for 2015-16 was “El Deafo,” by Cece Bell.

To see if an item is available, search the catalog on the library’s website. If the book you want is checked out, the library can reserve it for you and call you when it returns. Patrons may borrow items the library doesn’t own through the interlibrary loan service. Patrons must have a Morse Library card, free to residents of Greene and Leeds, to borrow library materials, request items through interlibrary loan, or use the Overdrive Download Library. To get a card, stop in anytime and bring proof of address. Morse Library is at 105 Main Street in Greene Village, just off Route 202 and a quarter mile from Greene Central School.
