Festival of Trees Nov. 26, new location in S. Paris

Nov. 202016

SOUTH PARIS — The Chamber of Commerce’s annual Festival of Trees Event has a new location this year in the Twin Town Plaza, 243 Main St. The event will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, with the chamber’s open house, as well as from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, with Santa and Mrs. Claus coming immediately after the parade and then again from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, with Santa and Mrs. Claus there from 1 to-3 p.m.

This new location also gives the chamber more flexibility on setting up for the event, so the Chamber plans to let businesses and organizations into the venue before Thanksgiving.

To participate in this event, the business, organization or individual will donate a decorated, artificial, holiday tree, which will be displayed, along with the name of the tree’s owner, throughout the event and viewed by the public. Raffle tickets will be sold, and each amazing tree will find a new home at the end of the festival. Also, at least 20 percent of the proceeds will be donated to local charities.

Register online for this event now. No event is possible without the support of our members.

The chamber’s annual Christmas parade will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26. This year’s theme is the “Sounds of Christmas.” The Chamber is hoping to bring in some more musical elements into the parade. Participants do need to register with the chamber. There is a $35 registration fee only for floats that will be judged. All others can participate at no charge. The Chamber asks that you embrace the Christmas theme and decorate your vehicles accordingly. There also cannot be any excessively loud vehicles in the parade. Online registration for this event will be available shortly.

The annual Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is on Nov. 26, followed by Light up Moore Park, where the Chamber decorates the trees in the park. Please join to help make the park even more beautiful.
