WAYNE — A farewell reception for Pastor Ernie Farrar and his wife Joan will be held Sunday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to noon in Fellowship Hall at Wayne Community Church, 22 Old Winthrop Road.
Members of the community, friends and associates are invited to join the church family at its 9:30 a.m. Sunday service to hear Pastor Ernie’s final sermon before he and his wife move to their new assignment in Lunenberg, Mass. The service will include the choir singing their favorite hymns and anthems, and a Litany of Farewell will be shared.
The church invites friends from Camp Mechuwana, a United Methodist camp established in 1948 in Winthrop, those athletes Pastor Ernie coached on the soccer field, area ministerial associates, friends and neighbors to join them in celebrating Pastor Ernie’s ministry. Coffee and a light brunch reception will follow worship; all who would like to stop by with good wishes for Pastor Ernie and his wife are welcome.
