AUBURN — Thelma I. Nickerson, 93, of Turner, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 7, at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 15, 1923, in Turner, the daughter of Donna Walker.

She was a 1940 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner.

She married Roy Nickerson of Turner Dec. 18, 1943, in Tampa, Fla.

Thelma devoted her time to her family and home. She also ran their business, Nickerson’s Store, in Turner. She enjoyed bingo, flowers, cooking and playing Scrabble. Thelma especially loved spending time with her family and spending winters in Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Roy Nickerson of Turner; daughters, JoAnn Nickerson of Turner and Bonnie Meggison and husband Paul of Blue Eye, Mo.; a son, Randy Nickerson, and wife Cindy of Turner; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers Roger Conant and wife Donna of Plattsburg, N.Y., and Merton Conant and wife Sally of Auburn; sisters Verna Hathaway of Greene and Cleo Sopka of Owego, N.Y.
She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Nickerson, grandson Chad Nickerson, great-grandson Erik Nickerson, brother Richard Conant, and a sister Lelia Moody.

The family would like to thank the staff at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their care and support to Thelma and her family.
