LITCHFIELD — A walk that will focus on everything you want to know about mushrooms will be sponsored by the Kennebec Land Trust at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 13. Topics will include discussions of habitat requirements, collection techniques, identification methods, book and website resources, cooking and preservation, toxicity cautions and more.
The walk will be held rain or shine. Bring collections from home that you’re curious about, gear for the weather, a basket and knife and small bags to separate collections. Guide Michaeline Mulvey has been wandering forest and field for years, not looking for something, but looking to see what might be there. The location is in Litchfield and the exact meeting spot will be shared when you register. Space is limited, so register by Friday, July 7, to reserve a spot by calling 377-2848 or emailing KBrewer@tklt.org. The fee is $10 for Land Trust members and $15 for non-members
