MT. VERNON — The Dr. Shaw Memorial Library will hold its annual bird walk around Mt. Vernon village Monday, June 19, beginning at 4 p.m. at the library. The walk usually lasts about a hour. Along with lead birder Dona Seegers, participants watch for song birds, water birds, birds of prey, whatever is flying, perched in a tree or gliding on water!
Bring a pair of binoculars if possible, a notebook and pen for recording what you see, and wear comfortable shoes. Long sleeves and a hat will protect against black flies. Bring your kids, your neighbors and lots of friends to enjoy this walk together around the village.
