WINTHROP – CODA Chorus will hold its spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Winthrop United Methodist Church, 58 Main st.
Coda Chorus is a community chorus based in Winthrop. It will present “Together in Song,” a celebration of love of music and of the community.
There is no admission charge, but free-will offerings will be accepted.
The program includes a pieces ranging in date and style from a classical period English Madrigal, a Romantic period French Madrigal, to several contemporary classical choral works and choral arrangements of jazz, pop, and Broadway songs. The music was selected to serve as both a celebration of music as well as a healing and rejuvenating balms.
The chorus is directed by Christine Lecher, an assistant professor in music at the University of
Maine at Augusta. It is her first season with CODA Chorus. Brendan Wilson is accompanist.
Now in its 56th year, CODA Chorus’ goal is an all-inclusive organization with the goal to raise the level of music appreciation in the central Maine area. It provides an opportunity for local singers of all backgrounds and abilities to join with one another in song.
