LEWISTON – The city’s 2023 Citywide Spring Litter Pick Up Day is Saturday, April 15.
Individuals and teams can sign up to participate.
“Public Works truly appreciates all the helpers who can join us on this Saturday or any day that works for you and your family,” Mary Ann Brenchick, public works director, said.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, beginning at Kennedy Park, 120 Park St., where Lewiston Public Works personnel will provide bags, gloves, pickers and buckets. Participation is free.
“Keeping our city beautiful is everyone’s job,” Mayor Carl L. Sheline said. “I hope residents will join me this April 15 for our spring litter pick up.”
When registering, options are provided for litter disposal:
• Returning litter to Kennedy Park; Public Works collection vehicles will be onsite
• Requesting that Public Works picks up litter at a specified site noted on registration form
• Calling Public Works dispatch the morning of the event to state a pickup location
• Dispose of litter through the participant’s weekly trash pick-up
