LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus both in-person and online classes for the coming weeks in Lewiston, Wilton and or Norway.
Classes are free, unless noted. Locations are fully accessible. Hearing assistive equipment is available upon request.
Some of what’s being offered:
Knitting Group, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, facilitated by SeniorsPlus staff, Education Center, 8 Falcon Road. Work on your own project, learn from others, and socialize.
Living Well with Diabetes, 1-3:30 p.m. Fridays, March 24–April 28, facilitated by Elaine Curtis, LSW, and Janice Sabin, LSW, Education Center, 8 Falcon Road.
BYO Craft and Chat 10 a.m.-noon, every third Thursday of the month, 284 Main St., Suite 210, Wilton, bring your own knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, painting, anything you enjoy, relax and socialize while working on your project.
Opening Minds through Art —Wilton, 1-2 p.m., Fridays, March 24–April 28, 284 Main St., Suite 210, Wilton, strives to bring joy, art, and pride to people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Upcoming OMA sessions will be held Fridays at 1 p.m. May 19–June 23 in Norway; July 14–Aug. 18 in Lewiston.
Caregiver Support Groups:
Lewiston – 5:3-7 p.m. every second Monday, facilitated by Dana Morrell, SW, 8 Falcon Road, Lewiston.
Norway: 2:30-4 p.m., every third Thursday, facilitated by Valerie Cole, LSW, 9 Marston St., Norwway.
Wilton: 3-4:15 p.m. every first Thursday, facilitated by Janice Sabin, LSW, 284 Main St., Suite 210, Wilton.
Caregiver support groups offer a safe place for caregivers, family, and friends to meet and develop a mutual support system. Participation can be an empowering experience. The group will meet in person on location.
SeniorsPlus also has a caregiver support newsletter that comes out quarterly. The goal is to share caregiver-specific resources and opportunities to those in need.
