KV YMCA partners with Funds2Org on shoe drive

AUGUSTA – In the month of March and April, the Kennebec Valley YMCA will partner with Funds2Orgs to run a shoe drive fundraiser.
This fundraiser will not only support the community, but it will keep shoes out of landfills and give them a second chance at life through micro enterprises in other countries, organizers said.
“Donate shoes today and help us reduce the percentage of consumer textiles found in landfills, which is currently at 85%,” organizers said.
The collection bin will be in the lobby at the Kennebec Valley YMCA, 31 Union St.
