Lewiston-Auburn merger proposal subject of June 20 forum

AUBURN — A forum on the proposed Lewiston Auburn merger will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Central Maine Community College, sponsored by the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber has not taken a position for or against the merger of the two cities, but wants to provide information for members and the public to hear both sides of the issue, according to a news release from the organization.

The forum will be held in the Kirk Room at the college, 1250 Turner St. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., and the forum will start at 5:30 p.m. The forum is free and open to the public.

The merger is on the November ballot in both cities, and both must pass in order for plans to move forward.
