TURNER – Mrs. Claus visited the Turner Public Library on Dec. 10, where she read stories to children, part of a holiday season celebration for children, attended by nearly 200 people.
Mrs. Claus, in the children’s section rocking chair, read “Llama, Llama Holiday Drama,” and other Christmas favorites to her the excited audience, which filled the children’s sections. Parents, too, many holding their youngest in their arms, attended, keeping an eye on things, while a few of their toddlers were busy at the Lego table on the other side of the spacious room.
Meanwhile in the basement meeting room, craft tables were set up for the children to make Christmas ornaments. Doughnuts and cocoa were also available.
The holiday event at the library was made possible by the library staff, volunteers, the Primary and Elementary Parent-Teachers group, Ricker Orchards, and high school students. Library staff said that all the help was appreciated and needed, as around 200 people attended between the hours of 10 and noon that morning.
