LIVERMORE FALLS – Treat Memorial Library has received a donation of locally born poet Louise Bogan’s books and ephemera, including correspondence with fellow poet Claire McAllister.
These items were onated by Frederick Hinchliffe II, and they’ll be used in the development of a local history archive at the library.
The library is looking for volunteers to help develop the collection. Call the library or email Alana at assist.treatlib@gmail.com.
There will be a special Cabin Fever Craft session for anyone in a post-holiday slump and feeling cooped up at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. It’s fee, open to the public, and for all ages. There will be plenty of supplies to create whatever you want.
Regular happenings at the library are:
Explorers Club, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. Explorers Club is a space for kids to engage in imaginative STEAM activities, experiments, and challenges! Explorers Club is recommended for explorers ages 8 and up.
Story time is at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, inside at the library, and includes favorite picture books, sing-a-longs, and other activities.
Book Club will hold a hybrid meeting (both Zoom and in person) at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. The book will be “The Final Girl Support Group,” by Grady Hendrix as part of the “Best of Goodreads” series. Let staff know if you’d like to borrow a copy.
Bonkers for Books, the monthly recommendation video, will be on Facebook Saturday, Jan. 28.
The library will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
