Belgrade library to honor memory of volunteer Fowler Dec. 3

BELGRADE – The Sandra Fowler’s Children’s Collection will be dedicated at a ceremony from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Belgrade Public Library, 124 Depot Road.
Fowler, known to local children as Miss Sandra, volunteered at the library for more than 20 years, leading the Thursday children’s story hour and craft activities, devoting countless hours of her time. A special fund was set up after her death in December to fund a small bookcase of children’s classics, and Caldecott and Newberry award-winning books, which she had a passion for.
The event will include dedication of a plaque commemorating the collection, socializing, light refreshments, and a special children’s book reading and activity to honor her dedication to story hour. Snow date is Dec. 10.
The event is hosted by the Friends of the Belgrade Public Library, the library’s board of trustees and its dedicated staff.
