WATERVILLE – United Way of Mid-Maine has announced the recipients of this year’s Community Impact Awards, which will be presented at the 2017 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 7.
New Ventures Maine, located in Augusta with outreach centers in Skowhegan and Waterville, will receive the Spirit of Partnership Award, which is given each year to an organization that has strongly supported United Way of Mid-Maine’s mission through effective and innovate collaboration.
Mark Tanner and Jackie and John Dalton will receive the Spirit of Mid-Maine Award, which is given each year to a special person or group who has gone above and beyond for the community and has helped to advance the common good in Mid-Maine.
Lynne Dailey will receive the Volunteer of the Year (Chester A. Baker) Award, which is given each year to an outstanding individual who has volunteered his or her time, talent, energy and enthusiasm in a multitude of ways that far exceeds our expectations.
Barbara Covey, Denise Plante and Jackie Dalton will receive the Women’s Leadership Award, which is given each year to women in the community who demonstrates a commitment to creating a stronger community and to stepping forward boldly to be a part of the solution.
Boy Scout Troop 417, of Winslow and Waterville, will receive the Youth Leadership Award, which is given each year to a promising young leader who demonstrates and promotes leadership and community involvement among Mid-Maine’s youth and who exemplifies a passion to make a difference.
The banquet will be held 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Thomas College, in the Spann Student Center, Summit Room. Registration is required. Admission to the event is free and open to the public. To register visit www.uwmm.org or call 873-0686.
