Domestic violence vigils set for central Maine sites Oct. 3

LEWISTON – As part of Domestic Violence Action Month, Safe Voices will host domestic violence memorial vigils in Lewiston, Farmington and Rumford at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3.
The Lewiston vigil will be at Dufresne Plaza, Lisbon Street; Farmington will be in Meetinghouse Park, Main Street; Rumford will be in Veterans Park, Congress Street.
The vigils will be in honor and remembrance of those lost as a result of domestic abuse and violence, will celebrate those who have survived, and will recognize and offer hope to those still experiencing abuse.
Safe Voices is a domestic violence resource center serving Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. Each vigil will include remarks from Safe Voices staff member and members of the public. The vigils are open to all.
