LEWISTON — The Lewiston Area Public Health Committee is seeking input on whether area residents would be interested in community conversations to reconnect after COVID.
The committee, in discussing what the community has experienced since 2020. Although the community has rallied in efforts to reduce the risks of spreading COVID-19, loved ones have passed, many people have been in isolation, precautionary methods have become the norm, fear has been prevalent, and ongoing ripple effects continue.
As such, LAPHC members would like to know if Lewiston area residents would be interested in some format of community conversations to reconnect, share from the heart, gain strength in numbers, and hopefully look forward with less fear.

City Councilor Stephanie Gelinas, chair of the committee, said, “Coming together as a community and creating space to talk about how we’ve navigated our way through this pandemic and what we need to continue to do together to find our way is extremely important. It is these opportunities for dialogue that create community.”
