AUBURN — Senior College in the Community — a collaboration between the Auburn Public Library and LA Senior College — will host Jean Potuchek presenting a program on “Aging, Health and Happiness” Thursday, Sept 22, at 2 p.m. at the library, 49 Spring St.
The program will cover research that consistently shows elders are more likely to report being happy than those in any other age group. This presentation will look at some of that research, consider why this finding is considered surprising, and explore sources of happiness as we age.
A retired sociologist, Potuchek spent most of her teaching career at Gettysburg College, where she was honored with an award for distinguished teaching. She blogs about retirement and aging at “Stepping Into the Future.”
