POLAND — Regional School Unit 16 Optimist Club Student of the Month is Kayal Olson, center, an adult education student. The award is given by the Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club.
Olson’s teacher, Sue Lasalle, left, describes her as a model of optimism — always cheerful, looking at the sunny side of everything, giving much time to self-improvement and “just as enthusiastic about the success of others” as she is about her own, according to a news release from the Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club. Olson is described as an eager and appreciative learner who sets a great example for her siblings and peers. The award was presented by club President Jeff Gagnon, right.
