Authors Lani, Dupree to be at Lithgow Sept. 10

AUGUSTA – Authors Andrea Lani, “Uphill Both Ways,” and Jennifer Dupree, “The Miraculous Flight of Owen Leach,” will be the guests of Lithgow Public Library 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Community Meeting Room at the library, 45 Winthrop St.
The event is free and open to the public.
Both are graduates of the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA program and editors at literary magazines. They will read from their work, share their experiences navigating the writing world as authors and as editors, and chat about the writing life.
Dupree is a librarian, assistant editor of The Masters Review, and a former bookstore owner. She is the winner of the Writer’s Digest Fiction Contest for 2017, and a 2022 winner of a Maine Literary Award.
Lani’s “Uphill Both Ways: Hiking Toward Happiness on the Colorado Trail” (Bison Books, 2022), is a memoir about hiking the Colorado Trail with her husband and three children and examining the environmental legacy of westward expansion. She is a senior editor at Literary Mama and a Maine Master Naturalist.
