Winners of Maine Strawberry Pageant announced at Pittston Fair

PITTSTON – The winners of the Maine Strawberry Pageant, crowned July 24 at the Pittston Fair, have been announced.
Winners are Morgan Boynton, 16, or Readfield, 2022 Maine Strawberry Queen; Lily Belanger, 16, of Pittston, runner-up; Lexi Benner, 11, of West Gardiner, 2022 Maine Strawberry Princess; Hailey Damren, 10, of Gardiner, runner-up; Sailor Deforge, 7, of Augusta, 2022 Maine Strawberry Blossom; Remi Foss, 5, of Augusta, Blossom runner-up.
Boynton was also named Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
Many hours of volunteering and helping around the fair led up to the coronation, with 17 contestants competing for three categories: Blossoms age 5 to 7 years old, Princess age 10 to 13 years old and Queens, age 16 to 20.
The three winners will make appearances at agricultural fairs and events this coming year.
