NORWAY – Physician Chuck Radis, author of “Island Medicine: Life, Community, and Healing on a Maine Island,” will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St.
Radis, a 1976 Bates College graduate, was drawn to a career in medicine after meeting an osteopathic family practice bush pilot in Baja, Mexico. As a young doctor, he practiced from Peaks Island, and traveled by boat to the four year-round islands in the Casco Bay, logging more than 100 house calls a year. His first book was “Go by Boat: Stories of a Maine Island Doctor.”
