Hawthorne House Strawberry Festival is June 25

RAYMOND — The Strawberry Festival at Nathaniel Hawthorne’s boy home, 40 Hawthorne Road, will kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25.
The event will feature a discussion by “Loon Lessons: author, scientist, naturalist and educator James Paruk on the common loon and raise money for the ongoing restoration and preservation of Hawthorne’s boyhood home.
The festival will also include a brief update by Abel Bates, Hawthorne Community Association member, on the Hawthorne House’s ongoing fundraising efforts and the association’s vision for the future of the Hawthorne House as a community center. Paruk’s presentation will follow. There will also be homemade strawberry shortcake, served with coffee and punch.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 8 and under, with reservations at Hawthorne@Maine.RR.com. Walk-ins are also welcome.
