Farmington Scouts have active spring

Farmington-area Scouts from Troop 546 took advantage of the warmer weather by getting outdoors this spring for a variety of adventures. They joined more than 100 Scouts and leaders at the Spring Camporee at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine outdoor recreation and education area in Augusta Iabove). The organization stocked its ponds with hundreds of brook trout and many Scouts caught a ton of fish. The weekend, run by Julie McKenney, of Belgrade, and Shelley Connolly, of Pittsfield, trained Scouts on how to react when there is an emergency, and some merit badges were also offered. They also hosted a Hobo Cookout (below) and played soccer during Memorial Day weekend after taking part in Memorial Day services. (Submitted photos)
