Free community Maginificent Maine Showcase is June 10 in Sumner

SUMNER — Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters and the Hartford-Sumner Elementary Allied Arts Team are partnering on a belated Maine bicentennial musical event, the Magnificent Maine Schowcase, which will be held at Hartford-Sumner Elementary School, 145 Main St., on Friday, June 10.
The evening includes a display of student work showcasing Maine, a potluck picnic dinner and music by the Galwer Family Band. It is free and open to the public.
The open house at the school will be from 5 to 7 p.m., when participants can visit student displays on Maine throughout the building.
The pot-luck picnic will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo/field behind the school. Participants may bring a dish to share. Paper goods, drinks and picnic tables will be provided. In the event of rain, the picnic will be held in the school cafeteria.
The Gawler Family Band will play from 6 to 8 p.m.at the gazebo/field. In the event of rain, the music and dancing will be in the gym.
