Androscoggin Historical Society free Knight House tours are June 8, 25

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Historical Society is offering free tours and activities at the Knight House/Downing Shoe Shop scheduled for the coming weeks.
The site, on the north side of the Garden Hilton Hotel on the west pitch of The Falls, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday June 8 and 25 for free tours and other family-friendly activities.
The Knight House is one of Auburn’s oldest structures, dating back to 1796. The adjoining small shoe shop contains tools and equipment that demonstrate how some Auburn residents made their living at that time.
