SIDNEY — The town’s Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m., and proceed from Transfer Station Drive to the town memorial near the town office, where a ceremony commemorating service members lost to war, as well as veterans and active-duty military will take place.
Veterans are encouraged to walk in the parade along with Scouts and other groups. Veterans can either walk as a group or ride in a vehicle. Some antique cars will be in the parade and may provide transportation for veterans who do not wish to walk. The parade route is about one-fifth of a mile.
Participants will assemble on Transfer Station Drive starting at 9:30 a.m.
Chairs will be provided at the program, and indivuals can also bring their own.
Following the formal program, the Boy Scouts will have a barbeque and treats for sale. Sidney First Responders will have a static display of their equipment and the Sidney Historical Society will have an open house in the Grange Hall basement.
Residents are encouraged to visit these displays, and bring a veteran with them.
Indoor and outdoor restroom facilities will be available.
In the event of rain, the program will be held upstairs in the Grange Hall.
