CANTON — Logan Morris, a Scout with Jay Troop 199, received his Eagle Scout rank during a ceremony held on Sunday, May 22, at the Canton Fire Station where he had performed his Eagle Scout project.
As part of his process of earning the Eagle rank, Morris had to develop and complete a significant project to benefit the community. The project he chose was to training aids for the fire station. The station now has some indoor ladder training props. He also built mock windows set up on the station’s mezzanine so the firefighters can practice ladder work.
Troop 199 Scoutmaster Tracy Wiggin pinned the medal on Morris’s uniform. U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ letter of congratulations was read during the ceremony. This summer, Morris will head to U.S. Army boot camp in Oklahoma.
