Bath author Drago to speak at Belgrade library May 26

BELGRADE – Author Irene Drago, of Bath, will be the featured speaker at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Belgrade Public Library, 124 Depot St., Belgrade.
Drago is the author “Daughters of Long Reach” and its recent sequel “The Maine Point,” historical novels that take place on Maine’s mid-coast.
She grew up in a Navy family and before moving to Maine, worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as a Russian analyst.. When she fell under the spell of a historic home in Bath, she convinced her husband to follow her to the coast of Maine, where she was inspired to write her novels. She is the recipient of a Next Generation Indie Book Award and a Spirit of Bath Award.
Drago’s talk will be the first in-person author event at the Belgrade Public Library since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
