Farmington April 30 prescription drug take-back is at Meetinghouse Park Gazebo

FARMINGTON — Area residents with unused or expired medication may dispose of them to the Farmington Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Meetinghouse Park Gazebo, Main Street, as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Along with prescription drugs, residents can also dispose of expired over-the-counter medication, vitamins and pet medication. Not accepted are liquids, needles, sharps, thermometers, pressurized canisters, and illicit drugs.
Besides the Farmington Police Department, the event is also hosted by Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County and Western Maine Behavioral Health’s OPTIONS program. Medication safety information and substance use prevention and treatment resources will be available.
Those who can’t drop off drugs on April 30, can dispose of unwanted medication year-round at: Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Farmington Walmart, Spruce Mountain Pharmacy in Jay, and police departments in Farmington, Wilton, Jay, Carrabassett Valley, Rangeley and Livermore Falls.
