LOVELL — The Charlotte Hobbs Library is presenting “A Beginner’s Look at Beekeeping,” with Dana and Sue Gregson at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25.
The Gregsons will discuss how beekeeping can be a fun and fulfilling family activity, perfect for those interested in farming, animals, and the environment. Using pictures and real apiary equipment, the program will introduce participants to the popular backyard hobby.
The Gregsons have 30 years of experience and own 16 hives in and around Lovell, they’ll discuss the roles within the honeybee colonies and how the bees work together as a community.
The library urges area residents to come with questions and share their own experiences.
The Gregsons will bring their honey for purchase, and they will also provide some for tasting, including a lesson on the difference between summer and fall honey.
