Gift certificates prizes await those who join central Maine Optimists Earth Day litter pickup

AUBURN — Local Optimist Clubs are joining area communities to pick up roadside trash on Earth Day, April 22.
Spring always uncovers a lot of litter along the roads, and Earth Day is a great time for family and friends to get out, enjoy the fresh air and help clean up the community, oraganizers said, adding “Every litter bit counts!”
Those who can’t join the effort April 22, can on Saturday, April 23.Those who take part have the chance to win donated gift certificates by registering your cleanup crew before April 24. To do so, email George Matthews at gwmthews91@gmail.com, or call 207-783-5269.
There are more than 30 gift certificates to be awarded to participants. Winners will be drawn from those who register.
